What is the new technology ?

EC motors are much more efficient than AC motors

The reason for this are lower losses in the rotor. Mainly because of the fact, that the magnetic field is generated by permanent magnets,
whereby in an AC motor this magnetic field needs to be created through a current flow in the motor. Also, an EC motor has no current flow in the rotor,
compared to an AC motor -> therefore no current losses in the rotor cage.
